Musssoorie itself is a wonderful hill station situated in the foot of Himalayas. It is popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’. This place derived its name from ‘mansoor’ plants. This place is famous as a film shooting spot. Beautiful Shivalik Range of Himalaya and Doon Valley are the places where you can get a scope to see movie shooting.

How to Reach?
Mussoorie is well connected with all other cities of India. You can avail trains or flights to get over here.
Best Time to Visit:

Best time to visit this place is March to June and September to November. Summer is the best time for trekking

Haridwar

Haridwar is the most famous hill station in India. River Gange has its origin at Gomukh at the edge of Gangotri glaricer situated in Haridwar. This place is considered to be one of the holiest places of Hindus. According to mythology, Haridwar is the place where ‘amrit’ (the liquid of immorality) was dropped from the pot carried by bird Garuda. This place is named ‘Har ki Pauri’ (footsteps of God). Haridwar celebrates its holiness after every twelve years in the form of famous Kumbh Mela.

Best time to visit Haridwar depends on which festival you are interested to enjoy. March to April is good for enjoying Ramnavami, October is good to celebrate Diwali.

Best Time to Visit:
If you want to enjoy greenery then visit Kausani between July and September. Else if you enjoy snowfalls, then visit this place between December and February.

Nainital  Hill Station

Nainital is an extremely famous hill station located in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. It has another name ‘Lake District of India’. Nainital place is located 1938 meters (approx) above sea level. It has beautiful view of Himalayan ranges and a great view of Naini Lake. This lake is famous in mythology because Lord Shiva performed tandava over here.

The best time to visit Auli is between February-end and May.

Chopta  Hill Station

Chopta is a famous hill station that is popular for trekking. Adventure lovers can visit Chopta for exploring Tungnath to Kedar (third) trek. The most famous spot to visit in Chopta is Chandrashila. You can get 360 degree panoramic view of Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba – all three peaks from Chandrashila.

This place has historical importance too. Mahatma Gandhi stayed here for two weeks at Anasakti Ashram and wrote a book called ‘Anasakti Yoga’ which was influenced by the pleasant environment of Khirsu.
