Though you can reach there by the motor but the place itself is quite remote. If you want to spend some time quietly in peace, away from rushed life, pollution, population, in the lap of nature; this is the best place to be. You will forget all your pain, anger, envy and your soul will be purified with calmness. You will rediscover true yourself in the greenie surroundings of nature.  It is also a cantonment area as there is an Army base nearby, of The Garhwal Rifles. You can also take parts in adventurous activities like trekking, bird watching, boating etc.

Durga Devi Temple

Durga Devi Temple which is close to Kotdwara

 just 9 km away from Kotdwara. Here devotees worship Devi Durga, a sacred place situated on the bank of Khoh River. A temple of Goddess Durga is the main attraction for tourist. There is a small cave having a ‘Shiva Linga’ near to the temple.  This place is very popular with the tourists as a picnic spot.  Hill forest and some small waterfalls also make the place more wonderful. There are taxis and bus service available to reach the spot. It is advised to avoid the place during rainy season.

One of the renowned sidhpeeth of Garhwal, a famous temple devoted to Devi Jwalpa, situated on the bank of river Nawaloka. The area is surrounded by greens. You will be mesmerized by the peaceful environment of the surroundings. Devotees from different places come to worship Devi Jwalpa and the locals said if you pray by heart, Goddess will fulfill your dream. There is a traditional school runs the temple.
